These glass vases, popular in the 1960's, are known to insiders as "swung glass." While the glass is molten, it is poured into a mold and then swung by hand in order to let the hot glass ooze out of the open mold. The effect is a drooping, and surprisingly other-worldly object which compliments the extra-terrestrial objects quite nicely.
